The kiss of the porcupines: From attributing responsibility to forgiving

چکیده
How to maintain relatedness in the context of being harmed by others, especially an intimate partner, is a fundamental human challenge. Forgiveness provides a way of meeting this challenge as it removes the barrier to relatedness caused by a transgression. But scientists know very little about forgiveness and its role in close relationships. This article therefore offers a conceptual analysis of forgiveness. The analysis then serves as the foundation for an organizational framework that can be used to study forgiveness in close relationships. Finally, preliminary data are presented that speak to some of the issues introduced in the article. Without forgiveness there is no future. P-222: Expression of RFamide-Related Peptide-3 and KiSS-1 mRNA in The Hypothalamus of Pregnant Rat
Background: There is no follicular development during pregnancy in the rat comparable to the changes of the estrous cycle. RFamide-related peptide-3 (RFRP-3) and kisspeptin were recognized as regulator of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion in several species, including the rat. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the relative expression of RFRP...
متن کاملP-196: Lactation and mRNAs Expression of RFRP-3 and KiSS-1 in Hypothalamus of Rat
Background: Comparison of the effect of lactation on expression of RFRP-3 mRNA in dorsomedial hypothalamic nucleus (DMH) and KiSS-1 mRNA in arcuate nucleus (ARC) of hypothalamus in lactating and nonlactating rat Materials and Methods: Fourteen rats of the Sprague- Dawley strain were randomly allotted into three groups. The non-lactating rats (n=5) were separated from their pups immediately upon...
متن کاملThe effect of ghrelin on Kiss-1 and KissR gene transcription and insulin secretion in rat islets of Langerhans and CRI-D2 cell line
Objective(s): Ghrelin is a peptide hormone that has been shown to have numerous central and peripheral effects. The central effects including GH secretion, food intake, and energy homeostasis are partly mediated by Kiss1- KissR signaling pathway. Ghrelin and its receptor are also expressed in the pancreatic islets. Ghrelin is one of the key metabolic factors controlling insulin secretion from t...
متن کاملEffects of Crocin on The Pituitary-Gonadal Axis and Hypothalamic Kiss-1 Gene Expression in Female Wistar Rats
Background: Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) is traditionally used as a spice for coloring and flavoring in cooking in some countries. One of the main component of saffron is Crocin. Recent researches have shown Crocin has various pharmacological effects. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of Crocin on the Pituitary-Gonadal Axis and Kiss-1 gene expression in hypothalamus and also ovarian...
متن کاملIncreased litter size and suckling intensity inhibit KiSS-1 mRNA expression in rat arcuate nucleus
Objective(s): The effect of litter size and suckling intensity on the expression of KiSS-1 mRNA in the arcuate nucleus (ARC) of rats were evaluated. Materials and Methods: Thirty two pregnant and four non-lactating ovariectomized (as control group) rats were used in this experiment. Lactating rats were allotted to eight equal groups. In three groups, litter size was adjusted to 5, 10, or 15 pup...
